Kingsley Duo Win National Choir Places
Two Kingsley School Bideford students have just received some extremely good news from National Youth Choirs of Great Britain.

14 year old Cara-Jade Nichols has been invited to join the National Youth Training Choir, while 18 year old Bethan Waters has won a coveted place in the National Youth Choir itself. Bethan is currently studying Music and Music Technology for A Level with the School Music Department and is planning to take her musical talent on to University.

The National Youth Choir (for singers aged 16-22) is recognized as one of the most outstanding choirs of any kind in the world. Its members enjoy the highest standards of rehearsal and performance on courses in the UK and on international tours. A substantial number of choir members go on to make a career in the singing profession.

The Training Choir (for students aged between 13 and 18) can be - as it was for Bethan - a stepping stone into the main Choir, or a wonderful experience in its own right.

Both girls have singing lessons at Kingsley with Bonnie Bradley Bailey. Bonnie has herself had an accomplished world wide musical career as a mezzo-soprano, having made her oratorio debut with the New York Philharmonic.

Bonnie and Kingsley Director of Music Tony White (who usually accompanies the girls on piano at School concerts) expressed their pride and delight at Bethan and Cara-Jades achievements.
