Senior Spring Concert

From Schumann to Lloyd Webber and Vuelvo Al Sur to Foxy Lady
The Senior School Choir, Chamber Choir, Orchestra and Jazz Band performed together with vocal soloists and instrumentalists at the annual Spring Concert. The evening showcased the immense musical talent within the School and delighted the large audience of parents, governors and friends.

The Orchestra performed a selection from Jesus Christ Superstar (Lloyd Webber), Blue Tango (Anderson) and Pie Jesu (Faure) with a trumpet solo by Allan Bennet in Year 10.

The Choir sang Stand By Me (King), Sealed With a Kiss (Geld) and The Surrey With The Fringe On Top (Rogers).

A Violin Duet from Christina Tang in Year 10 and Bethan Waters in the Upper 6th included Vuelvo Al Sur (Piazzolla), A La Luz De Los Faroles (Mendizabal) and El Choclo (Villoldo).

The audience were entertained by Sixth form student soloists; Rebekah Fell with Schumann's Der Nussbaum and Du Bist Wie Eine Blume, Chloe Gibson sang the traditional song I Know Where I'm Going,  Nicolle Hockin sang Teng's Lullaby For A Stormy Night and Bethan Waters and Alastair Quinton Tulloch performed Memory from Cats.

Rutter's beautiful interpretation of All Things Bright and Beautiful was sung by Cara-Jade Nichols in Year 9.

Ryan Waters in Year 11 performed a Trumpet solo, The Noble Savage by Hummel.

The Chamber Choir fresh from their recent performance in Exeter Cathedral presented Cohen's Hallelujah.

A wonderful evening of music to end the term, followed by refreshments in the Dining Hall.
