Juniors at OCEANFEST
Sport on the beach at Croyde Bay
OCEANFEST is an annual music and beach/watersports event held just along the coast at Croyde Bay. Alongside the big bands on the festival stage and adult events covering everything from beach volleyball to surf kyaking the North Devon PEDPASS  (Physical Education Daily Physical Activity in School Sports) partnership organise activities for Junior school children. OCEANFEST Education Day covers beach safety, conservation and ecology as well as sport. As a member of PEDPASS, Kingsley School Juniors went along to join in the fun with 55 schools and 1,500 others.

On a glorious sunny day with a blue ocean as the backdrop the pupils took part in a variety of activities such as:

Beach Flags - Starts from a prone position then running to find a flag approx 10m away.
Beach Relay - A shuttle run of 15m with a baton to pass.
Orienteering - Finding clues and stamps from flags positioned around the beach.

Pupils were also able to look around at the displays and stalls in the festival arena and take part in some of the workshops.
