"The Duchess of Malfi" at The Old Vic
The Upper Sixth English and Theatre Studies students attended a performance of "The Duchess of Malfi" at The Old Vic in London on Wednesday 25th April.
The production of John Webster‘s great Jacobean tragedy was directed by Jamie Lloyd and tells the dark and bloody story of the recently widowed Duchess as she struggles to retain strength and dignity in the face of death.
Webster's poetic masterpiece was a terrific production; brilliantly acted and directed. Eve Best as the Duchess was particularly impressive.
Everyone agreed that it was a very enjoyable trip and extremely useful as a form of revision as A2 exams approach.
