This year the twist to the traditional nativity story saw Kingsley Pre-School, Reception and Year 1 and 2 children performing "The Hoity Toity Angel". For weeks prior to the two morning performances rehearsals took place at various times during the day in the junior school hall. Much secrecy surrounds this wonderful play but on many an occasion the odd star, king or even a camel could be seen walking down the corridor to the hall for the next rehearsal. Until the actual day though, nobody knows exactly what the performance will be. Lines were learned, songs were sung and the actors and actresses said their pieces with no errors to a packed hall on both days. The children were superb and a credit to the teaching and support staff involved in managing an event of this kind. Hours of work in costume preparation, learning songs and lines truly told the story of Christmas.
After the performance families mingled, enjoying mince pies and light refreshments. This year a collection was taken on both days to raise funds for the Share Music South West charity and to day over £100 has been raised (funds still being collected). Thank you to all involved.
