I don’t know about you, but when I see good news on the TV it makes me feel so much better. Often, the only things that seem to be reported are miserable and this makes it easy to forget that alongside the bad, there are a lot of good things happening in the world. A new study by the University of British Columbia has discovered that hearing good news stories has a positive impact on our mental health and seeing acts of kindness reported makes us far more likely to be inspired to do good ourselves.
To make you all feel better here are some good news stories to make the week that little bit better:
Tiger and Blue Whale numbers are up for the first time in years.
China has now banned all ivory trading.
It has been scientifically proven by Dr Maureen Cooper from Stirling University, that pizza tastes better cold, making it a viable breakfast option!
Finally, it has been discovered that looking at cute pictures of animals in costumes can improve your focus. Tell all your teachers that you need a five minute cuteness break!
Have a good week,
