Kingsley’s Senior School Choir is named Devon Choir of the Year today!

Kingsley Senior School Choir reached the final of the Devon Schools Choir Competition 2017 and this morning performed at Southernhay URC in Exeter.

Sam Abrahams, Musical Director, Devon Schools Choir, said: “Competition was fierce this year. We had many wonderful entries from across the county. We have whittled it down to a final six, four places wasn’t enough, each of which performed live for the panel at Southernhay Church today.”

The Kingsley choir prepared two songs to perform today in front of the panel consisting of Musical Director, Sam Abrahams, Area Fundraising Manager for CLIC Sargent, Jordan Anderton, professional musician and teacher, Alex Wilson and Philip Day, Music Coordinator for CLIC Sargent.

Kingsley’s choirmaster, Mr Beechey, would like to pass on his congratulations to every member of the choir for winning the final today and being named Devon Choir of the Year.

Congratulations also to St Peter’s Exeter and Devonport High School for taking 2nd and 3rd places in this competition.
