Our Hinkley Point ‘B’ Experience Tour consists of:
A 3.5 hour tour, which starts in our EDF Energy Visitor Centre based in the Angel Place Shopping Centre in Bridgwater, where we give a 30 minute talk about Hinkley Point B power station. This encompasses the background of EDF Energy as a company and our varied sources of electricity as well as a breakdown of the working sites at Hinkley Point, including the potential new nuclear build.
We then invite you to spend approximately 20 minutes in our interactive exhibition area where there is a lot to see and do, before you make your way out to Hinkley Point B power station itself. Here you will visit our control room viewing gallery, the turbine hall and our pilecap viewing gallery which is situated 160ft above sea level and looks down onto the top of our two reactors. There is no fee for this tour, although we are unfortunately unable to subsidise your transport costs. This particular tour is limited to those children aged 8 and above, as we require all of our visitors to wear personal protective equipment (hard hats, light eye protection, hearing protection and high visibility jackets) which is not suitable for children of a younger age. We have full risk assessments available if you wish to view them.
