Thank you Mr Mills for a brilliant fencing lesson today.

Fencing, an Olympic sport, is enjoyed by many pupils at school.

Fencing is a sport derived from duelling between two opponents. The objective is to score ‘hits’ or ‘touches’ on your opponent. A given number of hits (usually from five to 15) make up a ’bout’, and the first player to score that number wins the bout.

For those of us who are new to the sport, it was surprising to learn that there are several different types of fencing swords and different competition rules and techniques for each of them.

The range of sport on offer at Kingsley carries on growing….
