It has been a great pleasure meeting all the pupils properly this week and starting to get to know them better. I was amazed by how many birthdays from over the summer holidays we had to celebrate yesterday in Celebration Assembly. I have also been impressed by how responsive the children have been; quick to take on board advice and ready to put forward their ideas on how to improve their school.
Of particular note was the thought that Sam, Daniel and Logan from Year 6 put into how to improve the use, distribution and storage of playground equipment. They have a plan, which, with the staffs’ agreement, will go ahead shortly and should ensure that we take better care of the equipment and that its distribution is more orderly.
I have also enjoyed meeting some of you, their parents, this week, mostly in passing. Please don’t hesitate to say hello if you see me and if I am sat at my desk, feel free to disturb me. I have been made to feel really welcome by everyone in the school community; pupils, parents and staff alike and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you.
Normally I return over the weekend to my family in Helston, but this weekend they are coming to see me. So if you are going to Bideford Carnival, I look forward to seeing you there!
And finally, the Kingsley School Open Morning is on Thursday 22nd September from 9am to 12 noon. You are our best ambassadors, so please, if you have friends or family who might be interested, please encourage them to come along and see our wonderful school.
