Well done to all the Kingsley runners competing today in the ISA South West Schools Cross Country Championships in Exeter. Competing schools travelled far and wide, minibuses arrived from Wales, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Devon, Somerset, Dorset and Cornwall.

It was a wild and wet day, ideal for cross country running! The Kingsley team were an asset both on the race circuit and supporting their teammates from the sidelines.

Year 4 ran a 1 1/4 miles course, Year 5 & 6 girls and boys ran 1 1/2 miles, Year 7 & 8 girls ran 2 miles, Year 7 & 8 boys ran 2 1/2 miles, Year 9 & 10 girls ran 2 1/2 miles and the Year 9 & 10 boys ran 3 1/2 miles.

To qualify for the Nationals runners needed to be placed in the top ten in their race today.

We are delighted that four Kingsley pupils qualified for the Nationals today; well done Lulu (4th), Isla (10th), Poppy (7th) and Ben L (7th). Closely missing a place at the Nationals were Ollie B who was placed 13th and Nora who was 11th.

The ISA Cross Country National Finals will take place on Saturday 3rd March at Princethorpe College, Warwickshire.
