Our Year 12 Oxbridge medical students spent the day at the Cardiology department at Derriford Hospital. The students were able to watch a variety of invasive and non-invasive tests including pacemakers, exercise tolerance testing, echo, ECG, angiogram and angioplasty. They were able to ask staff questions and even received an angiogram masterclass from one of the consultants!
The day gave the students an insight into the medical profession and enriched their A level biology learning.
Thank you to Mrs Huxtable’s former colleagues at Derriford for putting on the day.
