RESPECT

Happy New Year

I’m sure you have participated in many discussions regarding New Year’s resolutions, and may have even made some yourself, and perhaps already broken a few!

Every term Kingsley Prep School have a theme running through the term. Last term we focused on the ‘Golden Rule’ from the Bible: do to others as you would have them do to you, and many children received certificates for remembering and applying the Golden Rule in their school life.

This term our theme is respect, and the many different aspects of respect, and to aid the children in the understanding of the term, we are using an acronym, and going through each part of the acronym every fortnight. The acronym is:

Respect

Equality

Self-confidence

Perseverance

Enjoyment

Curiosity

Trust

As you can see, these are great and really important attributes to encourage our children to aspire to. We start our first word, ‘respect’ next week, and focus on that for a fortnight: respecting each other, respecting each other’s opinions, earning respect, and respecting our school, and the resources and the world we live in.
