Extra-curricular, Social and Leadership Opportunities
A large number of extra-curricular activities are available to Sixth Form students.
They can participate in a wide variety of sports including rowing, surfing, climbing, judo, kayaking, trampolining and gymnastics, as well as more traditional team games.Sixth Form students are also encouraged to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme.
In addition there are many opportunities within the field of the performing arts including choir, chamber choir, orchestra and numerous school concerts and productions.
A number of Sixth Form social events take place throughout the year culminating in The Summer Ball held in late June. Students are able to develop their leadership and organisational skills by serving on social committees responsible for organising events and overseeing the smooth running of the Sixth Form Centre.
Other leadership opportunities and positions of responsibility are available as prefects, sports captains, competitive house captains and within the boarding houses. Students are also encouraged to act as mentors to younger students and assist with activities in the Junior School. Those who are interested in careers in Primary Education are given work experience opportunities in the Junior School. The School also encourages participation in voluntary activities outside of school and will assist students in finding placements.
