Success breeds success

Since the start of term I have had the privilege of meeting a large number of pupils who have seen success across the whole gamut of school life. I have been proud to congratulate one of our Upper 6th pupils who has been offered a place at Downing College Cambridge to study Computing; I have had the pleasure of attending the Kingsley Judo Academy Annual Presentation evening, at which dozens of medals and trophies were awarded to Kingsley pupils and others in the local community who attend the Academy; I have met and interviewed some very impressive candidates for Academic, Sport, Drama and all-round Kingsley Scholarships, at our recent assessment days for pupils in year 6 and year 8; I have congratulated 2 girls in year 10 who have been selected to play for the England U16 Handball team; I have enjoyed talking to Year 11 pupils and their parents in the light of their recent mock GCSE exam results.

There has been a real buzz about the school since the start of term and, in spite of the dark mornings, early sunsets and the annual bout of coughs and sneezes, Kingsley pupils are doing amazing things. I have been amazed by the commitment and tenacity of both pupils and staff since the start of term and it is very exciting to be the Headmaster of a school where so many excellent things are happening on a daily basis.
