Where is the best place to live during the lockdown?
The Government has expanded its Covid-19 case tracker to include local authorities. It shows that there have been just 36 confirmed cases in our local authority, Torridge. Torridge’s rate of 52.8 cases per 100,000 population is the third-lowest rate in the country, with only Hastings and Mendip with a lower rate.
Kingsley is so fortunate to be located in such a relatively safe location. For our local day families who can enjoy the outdoors and soak up some of the recent good weather – I’m sure it’s a godsend.
From today we are able to enjoy greater freedoms, such as extended exercise and time outside, as some lockdown restrictions are eased across the country.
Kingsley School is set in genuinely beautiful grounds. And those grounds are set in one of the most beautiful regions in the UK, and now one of the very healthiest places in the UK.
North Devon has rolling green hills, a dramatic coastline with long white-sand beaches, safe for children to enjoy, perfect for surfers to ride the waves, and with suggest and unspoilt Exmoor and Dartmoor to explore.
No wonder the great open spaces of North Devon makes it a healthy place to be. No wonder the list of Kingsley’s sporting and other activities is so wide and challenging. No wonder Kingsley’s parents always notice that their children have such a healthy glow at the end of every term.
Latin may have gone out of fashion, but the old adage: “Mens sana in corpore sano”…”A healthy mind is a healthy body” still makes good educational sense.
Here are some pre-lockdown photos for you to enjoy.
We are greatly looking forward to the school playing fields, grounds and woods becoming alive again when all our pupils are back in school.
