Apply if you have a demonstrable interest in environmentalism and/or sustainabilty. You may have worked or volunteered in a relevant project or activity, or you may have already undertaken some study or research. You will have some knowledge and understanding of the UNESCO Biosphere of North Devon and of the UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals.
Scholarship details:
You will receive specialist tuition and support from our Earth Centre Manager, based at the Kingsley School Ecology Zone;
You will complete a related EPQ in the Sixth Form, or an HPQ in the Upper School worth half an A Level or one GCSE respectively;
You will lead on a specific environmental or sustainability focused project within the school;
You will be an active member of the Earth Centre Society attending weekly meetings;
You will attend all Earth Centre related events and lectures;
You will promote Earth Centre ideals and philosophy throughout the school;
You will contribute to the Earth Centre blog, social media posts and media releases.
Apply if you have already trained as a Judoka, and are currently a member of a Judo club, either inside or outside of your current school. You will have regularly attended training and will have already competed in a local, regional, national or international competition. You will be a 5th Kyu (Yellow Belt) or higher, with a desire to work towards higher grades. As a successful applicant, you will have been able to demonstrate progress and aptitude, and will be supported by a reference from your current Judo coach or club.

Individualised training programme focusing on the acquisition and development of skills, S&C, and prehab-rehab;

Apply if you have regularly taken attended gymnastics training, either inside or outside of your current school. You will also have already competed in a local, regional, national or international competition. As a successful applicant, you will have been able to demonstrate progress and aptitude, and will be supported by a reference from your current gymnastics coach or club.

Apply if you have attended music or singing lessons for at least 2 years, and have achieved accreditation from an officially recognised body for attainment, for example, ABRSM, LAMDA, CDMT, Arts Award, Rock School, etc. As a successful applicant, you will have been able to demonstrate progress and aptitude, will be supported by a reference from your current music teacher or school, and will have completed a short live or pre-recorded performance piece.

Apply if you have a keen interest in drama and can demonstrate active participation in school or local theatre company productions. You may also have achieved accreditation from an officially recognised body for attainment, for example LAMDA, CDMT, Arts Award, etc. As a successful applicant, you will have been able to demonstrate progress and aptitude for drama or musical theatre, will be supported by a reference from your current drama teacher, school or thatre company, and will have completed a short live or pre-recorded performance piece.

Surf Scholarships at Kingsley School are the most exciting scholarships currently being offered by any UK boarding school. Located in the UK’s only officially recognised World Surf Reserve, the Kingsley Surf Academy is the only one of its kind in the UK. Apply if you have a love of the ocean, a passion for surfing, and an understanding and appreciation of all the physical and mental-health benefits that surfing provides. You will need to demonstrate this passion and will have been an active surfer for 12 months or more, with the potential to develop your skills and understanding further.

Apply for a Top Universities Programme scholarship if you intend to study Law, Engineering, Medicine or Veterinary Science at a Russell Group university, or if you intend to make an application to study any subject at either Oxford University or Cambridge University. Your GCSE predicted or actual grades will be assessed as part of the criteria for an award, along with a reference from your current school. If you are applying from overseas where you are not taking GCSE examinations, local equivalent qualifications will be considered along with a separate academic aptitude test.

You will receive specialist tuition and guidance from our Top Universities Programme Tutor;
Your Tutor will supervise your Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) in a relevant area of interest, and also supervise the successful completion of relevant MOOCs to broaden your knowledge and understanding;
You will attend weekly tutorials to guide and monitor your preparation for a successful university application;
You will be provided with work-experience opportunities to gain wider knowledge and experience in your area of interest;
You will be directed towards relevant journals, articles, wider-reading and lectures in your area of interest;
You will receive personal UCAS and Oxford / Cambridge application writing guidance and interview practice from our partner college in Oxford.
Apply for an Academic Scholarship in a specific subject or pathway (eg STEM, Arts, Humanities etc) if you are able to demonstrate significant achievement, interest and aptitude for that subject or pathway. Your most recent school report with indicative grades will be assessed as part of the criteria for an award, along with a reference from your current school and the successful completion of an academic aptitude test. Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate how they have developed their interest or knowledge outside the classroom. Please note a separate application will need to be made for each individual subject or pathway.
Scholarship details:
Sixth Form scholars will complete a supervised Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) in your subject area;
Upper School scholars will complete a supervised Higher Project Qualification (HPQ) in your subject area;
Lower School and Prep School scholars will complete a school-based project in your subject area;
You will act as a subject ambassador to organise and particpate in events and activities related to your subject;
You will participate in all internal and external subject competitions and events organised by the subject lead.
