Ladybirds 0 – 12 months

​The Ladybirds have been busy continuing with their Christmas craft. We helped the Caterpillar room create a giant Christmas tree where we painted our hands to help decorate it! We have had a few new friends come to visit this week, so we have been helping them settle in to their new environment.

Next week We will be singing Christmas songs during our group time sessions and listening to Christmas music, exploring musical instruments and lights.

Caterpillars 12 – 18 months

​The Caterpillar room have been exploring the colour yellow this week using yellow resources and equipment, such as diggers and balls. We have been exploring how these items move around the room through pushing, pulling, throwing, rolling and lifting. We have also finished making a Christmas tree using our hand prints!

Next week We will be finishing our Christmas crafts to take home and singing Christmas songs during our group time activities. We will also be introducing farm animals and their sounds..

Butterflies 18 – 24 months

In the Butterfly room, we have made a snowman as a group, using white paint, pom poms, glitter and cardboard. We have learnt some new Christmas songs at group time and read some Christmas stories. We have welcomed some new friends for visits, before they start with us in the new year. We have also been practicing our animal names.

Next week we will be finishing our snowman. Continuing our Christmas craft and learning more Christmas songs.

Bumblebees 24 – 30 months

This week in the Bumblebee room, we have been decorating salt dough tree decorations using glitter and paint. We have also been focusing on shapes in the environment and trying to match them with objects we have seen.

Next week we will be performing our Christmas songs, dressing up and playing the musical instruments we have made!

Dragonflies 30 – 36 months

In the Dragonfly room, we have been busy creating an advent calendar to help us count down the days until Christmas! We have made a reindeer using brown paper and a bauble for his nose. We have also been making snowmen using different shapes of paper.

Next week we will continue to practice our counting using our advent calendar. We will also continue learning our shapes through further Christmassy activities.


This week at Pre-School, we have been busy recording our Nativity performances! Keep a look out on our social media pages to see the children dressing up and singing along to the Christmassy songs!

Next week our last 3 days before Christmas! We will be enjoying some Christmassy party games, finishing any Christmas craft and enjoying the children’s free choice of activities. Holiday club will commence from Thursday 17th December 2020. If you would like to book in a place for this please contact the nursery via email.
