Today Kingsley students are happily celebrating their exceptional A-Level and BTEC results; 55% of all grades awarded are A & A* at Kingsley with Chemistry, Further Maths, French, Physics, Hospitality and Outdoor Education pupils all achieving an A grade or above.

Commenting on this year’s results, Headteacher, Mrs Gill Jackson said: “Witnessing the pupils open their results envelopes this morning was hugely emotional.  Kingsley pupils always support one another and enjoy each another’s success. Today was no different. I am immensely proud of our pupils and their exceptional results today which enable them to secure places on their university degree level courses.  Last summer 51% of results were A & A* grades, today our Year 13 pupils have surpassed that, and 55% of all grades achieved are A & A* grades.  I congratulate all our students and our staff who have worked together to achieve this outstanding success. The parental support and commitment, combined with the tireless energies of all our pupils and staff, enable us to achieve top grades at both A-Level and at BTEC Diploma level. I wish every Year 13 Kingsley pupil the very best success with the next stage in their lives. These are fantastic results – well done everyone!”

“May I also take this opportunity to thank Kingsley teachers and staff for supporting and preparing our students over the last two years for these superb outcomes, and also in dealing with all the exceptional circumstances which came our way through the summer term. The diligence, detail and care that went into the suggested grades process has obviously paid dividends in ensuring these excellent results for our young people, and I’m delighted that they will leave us with such good results and the best possible start in life!”

The important stories of the day are our individual successes, and the excellent university and subsequential career progression options for our students.

Headboy Nat Bodinetz received 3A*s in Maths, History and English and is off to study PPE at UCL, he said: “I am thrilled with my results.  To be perfectly honest, it hasn’t really sunk in yet, and everything seems a little surreal.  I’m going to miss Kingsley, the teachers, all my friends, and the comfortable vibe here at school, but heading to London is going to be fun, I’m really looking forward to it.”

Nat’s twin brother Gabe Bodinetz added: “I am really ecstatic with my results.  It’s been a hard few months for our year group but I’m happy with how I’ve done, and I have the results I was expecting. My next step is to head to London to study Art at Central St Martins. It is going to be a big change from Devon life! Being at school today feels really positive; I am so glad everyone has done so well.  As always, there is a true sense of community spirit at Kingsley, with the teachers supporting each of us as we open our results and are here to celebrate with us.”

Mrs Bodinetz added: “I feel relieved. Students this year haven’t had the chance to prove themselves by sitting public exams.  But I feel that today’s results are well deserved and justified.”

Meanwhile, Head girl Megan added: “It is a really happy day seeing everyone collect their results. During the holidays I have had time to think and I have had a change of heart; I am now going to switch from Journalism at University to Anthropology.  In fact, I am waiting for a call back from Goldsmiths, so fingers crossed I get my place! I am going to miss Kingsley, and Ms Borsten especially. She has made me realise how great Drama is and I hope to continue Drama alongside my University studies. Thank you to everyone at Kingsley; this school has been like a family to me for so long.  The support has been amazing and being here today to see everyone receive their results feels really emotional.”
