ISA Sport National Cross Country Final at Rugby School

Isla, Lulu and Zac competed at the National Finals today in Rugby after qualifying for the SW team at the regional heats.

Over 700 runners were competing today across 10 races. The conditions were unseasonably hot and sunny, in extreme contrast to last year when the country was covered in snow and this event was cancelled.

Today, Isla and Lulu were the first runners from Kingsley in the 2,750m Year 7 & 8 Girls race. Lulu placed 24th over the line, the 1st girl back from the SW team, in 11:13 minutes. Isla came in 41st and the 5th south west girl home, in 11:58 minutes.

Several races later and it was time for Zac to get ready on the starting line for the 3,800m Year 9 & 10 Boys race. Zac came 33rd and was the 5th SW boy back, in 14:35 minutes.

Congratulations Team Kingsley for earning your place at the National Finals and for running exceptionally fast amongst very competitive and talented athletes from across the country. 👏👏👏🏃🏼‍♀️💪

Thank you to the Independent Schools Association for today’s event and to Rugby School and all the sports staff, stewards and army of volunteers who were working together to create this fantastic event for all the runners.

Finally, thank you to Kingsley’s PE department and Mrs Cloak for training the team and constantly giving them support and encouragement; along with their parents who travelled to Rugby today.
