Kingsley win a National Schools Award for Sustainability and Environmental Education

After a challenging year for all, Kingsley School Bideford was delighted to celebrate winning a national award at the ISA Awards 2020 on Friday through a virtual ceremony event.

The ISA Awards celebrate the breadth of excellence and innovation across the independent sector, and recognise the hard work of Headteachers and their staff. This past year has been unprecedented for all, but one thing that has remained is the dedication and hard work from teachers and their schools to push on and continue to offer an excellent education to all the children in their care.

Kingsley School was delighted to be named Sustainability and Environmental Education ISA School of the Year.

Headteacher, Mrs Gill Jackson said: “I would like to applaud everyone in our school community for their fantastic work, dedication and passion shown over 2020 to sustainability and environmental education. We are absolutely delighted to be the winners of this award.  Ensuring our students are well educated about the environmental issues faced by our world is at the centre of our work at Kingsley and we’re overjoyed that our work has been recognised by ISA.”

Rudolf Eliott Lockhart, CEO, Independent Schools Association, said; “Kingsley School’s work to successfully educate the whole school on environmental issues and to promote a culture of environmental responsibility, was outstanding. Their array of initiatives will no doubt help to inspire a generation of future innovators in environmental change, and we are delighted to be able to award such an important area of work. Well done to everyone at the school”
