A warm welcome back after what I hope was a wonderful half term break for everyone.  It has been a delight to see the school returning to a full programme after the disruptions of the last two years, and I have been proud to witness the very positive attitude of the whole Kingsley community.  This half term will see numerous events occurring in the run up to the Christmas break. We will be looking for opportunities to invite parents and visitors back to the school as appropriate, depending on the local COVID briefings, starting with the PTA Bonfire and Fireworks event on Friday evening.

We are monitoring the local COVID situation daily and following all advice given to us. We have so far been fortunate to have a minimal number of positive cases but remain highly vigilant.  We are maintaining our increased cleaning regime and request that pupils, staff and visitors wear masks when inside the building and in public areas. We continue to test twice weekly and ask for parental support in testing if your children miss a test at school for any reason.  Please be alert to the well-publicised symptoms and keep children away from school and arrange a PCR test if you are concerned.  Your continued support in these matters is very much appreciated.

Kingsley’s incoming Head, Mr. Pavis, remains in weekly contact with me and is very excited to be able to join the school on a permanent basis a little earlier than expected at half term in February.  Parents will have an opportunity to meet him at the sixth form presentation evening later this month. We hope to arrange a wider audience with him before the end of term.

I look forward to meeting more of you as the term progresses.
