At Kingsley, we are proud that surfing is deeply rooted in our culture with our surfing activity sessions and surfing within our sport curriculum. We are delighted to extend the already brilliant surfing provision at school with the formation of the new Kingsley Surf Academy for pupils who are the most passionate about excelling in surfing.

This term, the Kingsley Surf Academy launches, providing surf training to pupils both in and out of the water. Through surf workshops, key topics such as visualisation, mindfulness, strength and conditioning, water confidence and eco-responsibility will build robust fundamentals and give our pupils the tools to achieve sporting excellence in the water or prepare for a future within the surf industry.

Our in-water surf sessions will be delivered at the blue flag awarded beach, Westward Ho! situated in the UNESCO Biosphere. As many of you would be aware, North Devon has recently been nominated World Surfing Reserve in the UK, and the first true cold water reserve in the world. So, Kingsley Surf Academy is located in one of the best places in the world to enjoy the sport of surfing, and the many types of waves in the area offer something for the everyday surfer to the professional.

The Kingsley Surf Academy will be accessible to all our pupils from Year 3 to the Sixth Form:
