Ladybirds 0 – 12 months
This week the ladybirds have been settling in their new friends and exploring the new environment. We have been making sounds with musical instruments and singing along to nursery rhymes. Caterpillars 12 – 18 months
We have been developing our fine motor skills by icing biscuits and adding a variety of sprinkles! sticky fingers and big smiles all round. We have also enjoyed developing eye to hand co-ordination by using the shape sorter to fit the blocks into the holes,
Next week we will be creating firework pictures using homemade recycled stamps and learning the names of foods using the role play kitchen
Butterflies 18 – 24 months
The butterfly room have been practicing counting numbers ‘1, 2’ 3’. They have also been exploring simple shapes; circle, triangle and square. The children have been really good at repeating after their key workers and pointing to the different shapes they see.
Next week we will explore colours through marble painting to support balance and control when making marks
Bumblebees 24 – 30 months
This week we have been getting ready for Halloween and creating lots of creepy crafts! The children have enjoyed making glittery bats, slimy pumpkins and monster cupcakes.
Next week we will be creating our own fireworks pictures and exploring colours and sounds around the environment.

Dragonflies 30 – 36 months
The Dragonflies have been busy learning the alphabet this week and making pictures linked to each letter. They were very excited about the crowns they have made to make them look like a queen – “qu” sound.
Next week we will be exploring the story ‘The Gruffalo’ and activities linked to this, and continuing on work on sounds.
Pre-School Holiday Club
During the half term holiday club your pre-schoolers have been continuing the autumn theme by going on woodland adventures and making spiders using card and pipe cleaners.
Next week we look forward to welcoming everyone one back and pre-school will commence again. We hope you all had a lovely half term! We are going to be talking about firework safety, bonfires and introducing our senses topic for the rest of the term
