Dear Parent/Guardian Spanish & Art/Photography trip to Barcelona: Sun 15th – Wed 18th Sept 2024
We are planning a trip to Barcelona, departing early on Sunday 15th September and returning late on Wednesday 18th September. Priority for this trip will be given to pupils studying GCSE or A Level Spanish or Art/Photography next year, although there will be plenty of places available for pupils lower down the school who are studying either subject.
The Educational Travel company we have chosen to use is WST, with more than 325 combined years in the school travel industry. WST is fully ABTA and ATOL bonded as well as a member of the School Travel Forum, responsible for regulating safety and service standards. They have also been awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom quality badge. For further information please visit www.wsttravel.com.
We plan to stay at the Alberg Pere Tarrés, a modern, purpose-built Youth Hostel about 15 mins from the centre of Barcelona by Metro. Reception is manned 24 hours a day. For more information on the hostel, please see www.peretarres.org/en/barcelona-hostel.
The current price of the trip is £850 per person based on 30 students, and £900 based on 25 students. We will be hoping to fill 30 places. Both of these prices are fully-inclusive and include a flight contingency sum, as advised by WST, which of course will be removed from the final instalment if it is not needed. Therefore we hope the trip will be slightly cheaper.
The price includes:
Possible additional costs:
Day trips are yet to be finalised, although we will fit in as many as possible, and are likely to be selected from: The famous Sagrada Familia Cathedral, Parc Güell, a Chocolate Museum, Shopping at the Market, The Picasso Museum and the Camp Nou football ground.
This trip promises to be jam-packed and brimming with opportunities for your child to experience the true culture of Barcelona, practise speaking Spanish in real-life situations, become immersed in a city full of photo opportunities, sketch some iconic architecture and broaden their horizons.
If you wish to reserve your child a place on this trip, please fill in the form at the end of this letter and return it to Miss Williams after paying your £250 deposit (bank transfer to Kingsley School: Account number: 90041084, Sort code: 20-17-68, Reference ‘Barcelona’) by Sunday 17 th March. Slips may be brought to me on Monday as long as the payment has been made
Please note that the deposit is non-refundable once we have confirmed your child’s place on the trip, unless the trip doesn’t run due to insufficient numbers. The remaining balance will need to be paid according to a payment schedule so that the trip is fully paid before the summer holidays.
